Our Beautiful Bridge and Futility's Wander
The arch of our beautiful bridge
white against the night
glowing in rain
a safety's traverse of all
lanterns on each pillar cast blossoms
across the dew fog of resonating hardships
and now truth
you do not stand on either side
if I venture there
will the birds at least remember my name?
but no
futility's wanderings are a fool's ventures
We held hands for years...walked quietly beside each other
only talking when really needed
only falling into a lovers embrace on occasion
but we were a glorious bridge and the waters are deep swimming
for us both
now
