Other Peoples Heartache
Other people’s heartache
by americus
Other people’s heartache.
It will greet you at your door with a solid expression, smiling and grieving at the same time
Other people’s heartache plays on your movie screen, happening before the sublime
But other people’s heartache also happens before your eyes, in the midst of reality you are being asked to shake hands with other people’s heartache and blur the lines
Smiling and grieving you are choosing to help or be the helpless, even though other people’s heartache has claimed its name as helpless. Now do you help or help less?
Your crown tilts a little when other people’s heartache reaches for it, begging for something else to be on their head besides grief
And when your eyes turned to glass and shatter with the images of other people’s heartache, are you watching your own movie or acting in it? Are you watching the car crash or are you the police? Are you the helpless, help, or help less?
Some may run faster than other people’s heartache, some may gladly shake hands with it. Some may place it in a glass box, keeping it around but not close enough to hurt them
But when other people’s heartache breaks open the glass box, grows a head on snakes and stares you down, it’s hands turn to knifes, the greeting is a booming and your door is what you’re about to lore, you fall to pieces under other people’s heartache.
When your eyes shatter and you see images of disgust, fear, loneliness, and your heart turns to stone
Other people’s heartache becomes your own
