Orlando

I reach for hands
no longer there
wince in the wind
of hates stench
grit my teeth
to suppress rage
lock my eyes
damning my tears

That ache….
that empty ache…
of needless loss
sad sting
of violent lash
upon the hearts
of all
wielded by an evil
fearful of the power
of love’s
gentleness
