"Picture Prompt" Limerick Poetry Contest

Sponsor: Margarita Lillico

Ordeal Has Begun

Oh my goodness, unbelievable fun,
Ordeal for my nemesis has begun !
Dreaming a favourite dream?
Must be my wishful thinking!
Am I his sole saviour, or he has none!

Love that the bird’s dreaming a favorite dream…a cat in a cage.

Isn't that such a clever dream? Loved the picture - see how grumpy the cat is! Hilarious! Thanks, Kim.

Hi Malabika, Love it! Felt compelled to reply in limerick: In a twist of fate, a hero's plight, His nemesis dreams in the dead of night. But I, with a grin, foil the plan's thickening, For in this game of chess, I’m the kingpin. And so he finds, in the light of the sun, he's not alone, for the saving's been done!

Thank you, Dearest Friend, for reading my humble limerick, and commenting so graciously on it! I was travelling for last two months to my home-country, and participating in various cultural events. When I am there, my life is totally different! This picture for Margarita's contest is so funny and interesting that I wanted to try this format. I love this poetic form, although I believe my greatest strength doesn't lie in funny poems. I am so glad you enjoyed it. Btw, I have started a new blog on cooking - just letting you know in case you are interested! A talented poet like you must be great in many other areas. Love, sweet friend...I am glad you did not forget me.
