Agnes Krampe Poet Free verse

Oracle

The heron is the color
of a November morning.
Fog wets the river rocks.
Fossils faintly echo
a grey past.
I shall take one stone 
home,
to look
through its waterworn hole
and perhaps 
see
the future.
