Opposition In All Things
I was born amidst a million
White as defined
An American
There are those I never met
But, because of color
They say I am privileged
Do they know
This is all
I ever knew
I've never owned another skin
Perhaps young, out of ignorance
I was judgmental
But, not out of hatred
Twas the messengers God sent
Which brought understanding to this
Still my skin is what it is
But, all are my divine kin
And my heart weeps for those
That continue to divide us
I know opposition must remain
In all things
But, that doesn't mean
I cannot fight till the end
