Opposition

Flirting with oppositional screams
As I grip the reins of a strangled soul
Is not as simple to me as life or death
Moments that are only memories flickering

Like a candle that is burning out
eventually the wick will be spent
The last lick of the flame is what will
Recapture the spirit within these windows

Shining through the cracks
Of this numb body shines a sober
Happiness with a glass shattering
World's away difference

Resiliency riding by my side
Is strength that I own with pride
Flying overhead towards the answers
As if I were jumping onto a moving train

My heart thumps nervously accepting
The truth will not always be what I want
Making up my mind and sticking to it
Is the one peak I climb to reach with gusto
