Opinions

Opinions matter, I am clear in head
I do hear them with courtsey and respect
They help me pick up any useful thread
Opinions matter, I am clear in head
I like opinions kindness that embed
For peace and tranquility they help spread
Opinions matter, I am clear in head
I do hear them with courtsey and respect

Opinions that are unsolicited
With calm they can be filtered silently
They need to be discarded if dim witted
Opinions that are unsolicited
Their usefulness is often limited
In one's mind can be deleted quitely
Opinions that are unsolicited
With calm they can be filtered silently

Democracy lets opinions expressed
Even if it's against establishment
Diversity gets beautifully dressed
Democracy lets opinions expressed
Gives voice to the ones that are dispossessed
Lessens their class difference punishment
Democracy lets opinions expressed
Even if it's against establishment

Mohan, you have lucidly and creatively spoken on the good, the bad, and the in-between of opinions. I especially like the part about quietly ignoring dimwitted opinions! :-) Janice

Noble sentiments, all. And only possible in a true democracy, as you've said, Mohan. In America, the darker America of Mr. Trump on the right (or wherever he is these days) and the BLM crazies on the left, it's becoming more and more risky by the day to speak out against the establishment. A very unfortunate development! Nicely penned triolet! :) gw
