Operation Yewtree

Our image of a future saint after his exit
this wonderful man we knew could fix it,
so generous with his time and finance
full of vigour, love, respect and romance,
to hospital patients a most welcome relation
gracious, certainly most favourite of our nation,
to many he could do no wrong, he was so good
Government rewarded him prestigious knighthood,
unbelievable reports for police to unravel
that must be untrue about our Jimmy Savile,
our living hero the prince of Scarborough
unknowing what evil this town did harbour,
the nation vehement to morn his death
on the day that he took his very last breath,
buried as requested facing the North Sea
his victims spoke out their feelings set free,
within weeks of his funeral a nation in shock
loyal fans and supporters had to take stock,
horrified by the realisation of his evil actions
removal of grave stone, alleviating distraction,
his ability to hide behind popularity and fame
now authorities began to play the blame game,
Jimmy Savile’s disgusting acts of abuse revealed
after so many years of evil had been concealed,
now a nation hurting expressing total disgust
over his unlawful insatiable unnatural lust,
British want no association and believe we should
remove name from honours list, revoke knighthood.

Incredibly intense and hard-hitting piece, Roy, and a superb write of a VERY difficult topic ... but our voices need to be loud at such times, or they will not be heard. Blessings and congratulations, my friend.

Thank you very much Gregory for your congratulations much appreciated, there will never be justice for the victims of Savile, but in my mind he should be remembered for his evil acts, he has no right to any kind of honour and his knighthood should be revoked, thanks again for your support. :)

Bravo Roy you have said it as it is - the nation was in shock when the full details of his abuse were unveiled its disgusting that it was known about and basically covered up shame he died before he could face a trial as his victims have a life sentence. many congrats on your win:-) hugs jan xx

Thank you for your congratulations Jan, Savile was an evil predator and has no right to retain the title of knight of the realm, this honour should be revoked and he only be remembered for what he was evil.

- An awesome poem, Roy - Evil is evil, no matter where it comes from - The mystery of evil has occupied humans at all times - Where does evil come from? - What drives a person to do unrighteous acts? - Luck in the contest - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Thank you so much for your very kind comment Anne-Lise, operation yewtree is still live and it is unbelievable how some rich and famous such as Savile use their status to abuse, I wish I could answer your question, where does evil come from? Thanks again for your support much appreciated. :))

I was taken by the awesome goodwill leading to knighthood, only to find that this person was evil within. Very well depicted Roy..best for a win.

Roy, you've really captured the story well. I'm sure there are people around today that turned a blind eye to what was going in in case they lost their places in the social ladder. It started with the clergy and over time we find they're all at it. Pop stars, MPs, Police, Teachers, Football coaches', DJs., the list is endless. Do you notice in lots of cases how they try to pin it on the victim. The UK is as corrupt as any country. Good luck in the contest. Tom

Thanks Tom, what make someone that without doubt made some people’s life better can perform such evil acts for their own sexual gratification is something I can’t understand, I hope some good comes from opening this can of worms, totally agree the U.K. is corrupt, thanks again for your support. :))
