Operation Christmas Child

Throughout the world year after year,
shoeboxes packed with gifts bring cheer
to needy kids who hold them dear.
Their smiles are a delight.

Each person’s small donation buys
a child much-needed school supplies
small toys, and more—a sweet surprise
that makes their Christmas bright.

As they are by the millions blessed,
providers of their gifts attest
they’re honored to fulfill this quest.
Their joy is at its height.

*Operation Christmas Child is one of the many ministry
projects of Samaritan’s Purse (Boone, North Carolina,
main headquarters)

We do it here in Canada too. I like to contribute what I can as well. Many places have a Christmas tree under which people are encouraged to leave unwrapped gifts for children. They have pinned to the branches of the tree a child's name and the age of the child. You take a name and buy a gift and leave it unwrapped under the tree. A fine tribute to the people who organize these projects. God Bless, JB
