Opening Up

My soul was suffering I was laid bare of all I was Or could be I took on the world but couldn't fit it all in my chest no matter how hard I pushed I was opened up My pain gave birth to a river and flooded it's banks They say what hurts you blesses you I have been baptized in my own blood It wasn't a gift What am I giving you if it's all overflow We never ask for anything All I ever wanted was to feel your hands searching the dark for mine
