Opening My Eyes

Sometimes I can't forgive myself
For those words left unspoken
Feelings stuck up on a shelf
Dreams scattered and broken

Time just slips away from me
Those teardrops turn to rust
How's a person going to see
When face-down in the dust

So I pick me up and look around
Hope for one more chance
Check out of the lost and found
Join in the victory dance

If a heart is again offered to me
A hand extended with love
I'll open my eyes wide to see
The heavens that open above
