Opening Doors
Opening Doors
Last night my husband was with another man.
They were locked in an embrace behind the closed door.
I pounded until my fists hurt while a man stood over me laughing,
Laughing that everyone knows, everyone knew.
Before I broke upon the truth that he loved another
Behind the door that was closed on him,
But that I opened wide for the world to see.
And he forgot to thank me.
