OPEN THE DOOR

Open the door~
as Noah did when the long rain ceased,
peering out at a world washed clean of fear,
curiosity rising like the dove he sent
to learn what waited beyond the flood’s hush.

Open the door~
as young Samuel did when God’s voice
brushed the dark like a soft-winged whisper,
each call a threshold he stepped toward,
heart trembling, wondering what truth might speak.

Open the door~
as Mary did when Gabriel’s radiance
poured into her quiet room like dawn,
her yes a doorway flung wide to wonder,
to hope, to the holy unknown.

Open the Bible~
for Scripture is full of hinges and thresholds,
each one inviting the brave and the listening
to step into God’s unfolding mystery,
where curiosity becomes faith in motion.

I wanted to personally thank you for the participating in my contest and say congratulations to you on your name being on the winners' list. I liked this one even though it wasn't exactly a topic that I had wanted, but there was some confusion about my contest, so I decided to let it go because your work is so great. Way to go. Sara K
