Open Door

I run and soar
Into an open door
Into a sky of lullabies and illuminated stars

I walk and go
Into a closed window
Into a room of many goodbyes and past scars
Past scars
Past scars beyond the bars

Life is like an open door
Life is like a closed window
I need you more and more
Yet, I need you less and less than you know
Life is like an open door
Life is like a closed window
I need you more and more
Yet, I need you less and less than you know

I trip and fall
Unto the cold, damp floor
Unto the ceiling's shadow and reflection

I hear your call
Echo in the hallways of hope
Undo this hanging rope...I can cope…
I can cope…
I can cope with your direction

Life is like an open door
Life is like a closed window
I need you more and more
Yet, I need you less and less than you know
Life is like an open door
Life is like a closed window
I need you more and more
Yet, I need you less and less than you know

You carry such a large luggage (there's so much kindness to show)
Let me carry your load
You say it's all water under the bridge (I don't believe you though)
Let me be your abode...
Your abode…
Your abode on life's turbulent road

Life is like an open door
Life is like a closed window
I need you more and more
Yet, I need you less and less than you know
Life is like an open door
Life is like a closed window
I need you more and more
Yet, I need you less and less than you know

Life is like an open door
Life is like a closed window
I need you more and more
Yet, I need you less and less than you know
Life is like an open door
Life is like a closed window
I need you more and more
Yet, I need you less and less than you know
Less than you know…
Less than you know…

Tomorrow, you'll reveal your glow
Someday, you'll let us all know
That you're loved and you're taken care of
Know that I care for you with brotherly love
