Open

Opening the door to my soul
Welcoming whoever walks in
Joy may stroll on through
Or sadness can lurk within

Greeting all visitors who enter
Opening the door to my soul
Not pushing around any feeling
As they each play a useful role

But none of them last forever
They only stop by as a guest
Opening the door to my soul
Learning from what they suggest

Resilient deep down in my core
With my heart filled up and whole
Inviting each arrival with open arms
By opening the door to my soul
