Only Through God
Mama and Daddy equipped me
With all I need in life,
They gave me the Holy Bible
To read in peace or strife
With the Bible as my roadmap
And God leading the way,
I circumvent each curve and turn,
Appreciate each day.
When sorrow crawls into my heart
And saturates my soul,
No power of mine can loosen it.
My will can't make me whole.
Without my God to shelter me,
To add His strength to mine,
I have no way to puzzle through,
The tangle disentwine.
When my road takes so many turns
That I have lost direction,
It is then I remind myself
I'm under God's protection.
It matters not the happenstance,
The problems that assail,
I need not face them on my own.
My God's there without fail.
I could not travel through this life
Without the help He's given.
I reach and take my Savior's hand.
He leads me straight to Heaven.
