Only Kidding

Convince ourselves that all we say is true
No better combo than I and you
Falsely hold all those dreams up high
as we look each other in the eye
We should just swallow pride
and call out our every lie
But where would be the fun in that?
All of this would really be lacking
if all we ever said was really true
No better combo than I and you
Who were we kidding?
Why are we kidding?
We were only kidding.
Only.
Only kidding.
And so we see,
that there's a new surprise
with every sunrise we share
But do we really care?
Would I miss you or you miss me
if one day we woke up to see
that you were never there?
That I was never there?
Do we really care?
Who were we kidding?
Why are we kidding?
We were only kidding.
Only.
Only kidding.
