Only In My Dreams
Only in dreams can you truly be mine
for it is only in sleep that you smile
Like a star in the sky I can see you shine
only when you walk me down the aisle
Only in my dreams hours cease to exist
like the handles of time turning in accord
love slips inside like perfume on my wrist
setting me on fire like a flimsy chord
Only in my dreams do you wear cologne
the only evidence of your auric presence
a touch of Jovan musk mingled with your own
and soon I have found your elective essence
Only in dreams can you truly be all mine
like a star shining, I only covet the shine.
