Only a Poet

In this world of many sorrows
    there are champions I know,
who flip life's coin over,
    and head's up, they show.

Because only a poet
can see the ugly that's here.
And write something beautiful
    with others to share.

So God bless all the poets
    who see life's other side,
and who write to inspire
    where once sorrow did abide.

Hi Darlene. There is a world of truth in your wonderful poem and I agree. As poets we have a great opportunity to bring light to the world. God will be our guide, my friend..... Robert.

Very inspiring poem. Truth in the fine telling. I see beauty in all poetry even the dark that tells of man's sorrow , woes and misdeeds but best are the uplifting, loving and sharing writes. A7 on this fine poem.

Monday morning sunshine to you also, Paul. Thanks for reading my poem and I wasn't thinking of myself when I wrote it, but if any of my poems uplift and inspire, then that encourages me to keep writing. And may your own muse continue to be as close as your shadow. Friends in poetry..~~Darlene
