Only a Heartbeat Away

Only A Heartbeat Away

Love should be the essence of one's existence
Through twisted wires being crossed on the telephone line
We are crafted and created for a great design
The seasons change bringing one helpless to wander
A lost child alone tends to cry our for their mother
Only a heartbeat away through the sway of another
Join hands to love out of laughter from above
An angelic presence bent as a rainbow in the dark
We had lit the inner spark of what we were truly waiting for
The handwriting is on the wall sorted fashionable decorum
A beacon of light to a much hurting world in need
We choose to pray that maybe the rain would go away
Lines being formed out in the sand when to understand
A beat of the clock to watch the grand tick tock
To bask in the vast array of your lover's arms
Such as a sweet song vested hands holding in the night
In a society to closed to let in the sun so often will run away
Hearts there bleeding in the night send such a fright
To the child playing in their sandbox all alone off to the side
Shake dreams from your hair ny sweet child choose the day
Lift the scale off your eyes & your in for a big surprise
A challenge to be free is a question of time
