One Year At a Time
The spring morning bounces into life
With it’s Cold air and illuminating sky
4.55am and the time has arrived
To leave for work, One step at a time
I once noticed the trees along the way
One was falling as if to say farewell
I stood with a pitiful mind, overlooking this falling tree
Who was leaving for good, One day at a time
My mind wanders as I feel the air
Thoughts of where I want to be
The sea, The sand, The rest,
I dream the same dream, One week at a time
My hair is turning grey and becoming thin
My body aging and my joints are struggling
Please not another walk into work today
But on I continue, One year at a time
