One Way Street In My Heart

Feeling a wee bit meloncoly, I must say
I alowed my mind to travel on avenues
that have been closed for repair for ages

Some have had dead end signs placed
others have had the same bumpy ride
as it did when it was first traveled

As many times as I have visited this old
very broken down street, why do I keep
comming back? Maybe as I approach
the dead end, I am looking for which
Detour sign I missed the first time

None the less, the path that takes
me there, will always remain the
one way street in my heart..........

I like the way you use physical streets to take us on a journey of your life. Nice closing. You may want to change Detor to Detour. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and for your kind words on my poem. Keep on writing! Karen

This is great Bonnie associting the street with a search or path of your life maybe a relationship kissing all the frogs trying to find that prince. Michael Torres
