One Thing
Why can’t I just be happy?
Why must I live a life of misery?
When I think I may finally be free,
I’m roped in yet again
I guess misery must be my destiny
Happiness is that luxury I cannot buy
Joy is something I can never find
I’m sitting here faking this smile again
I’m sitting here laughing just to fit in
While on the inside my mind’s covered in shades of black
Slowly building up inside is this sorrow I always hide
I don’t know why I almost make it out
and just as soon as I may be happy again
Just one thing makes all my progress cave in
