One Summer

The wind freshened and~
the briny sea stiffened
     in your hair,
until my fingers swept it free
~ but not totally, nor
would I ever want it to be,
because, to flirt with your demons
is to rearrange your endearing quirks
~even the angry ones...
I need to be left in your glare-because
   I bathe there...happily.
A promise of foreverness is
eternity wrapped in wishes -
infatuation left to grow into
 something more than just
    a simple affair...

Dear Craigsz, it is always an honor to see you inspired by my prompts. I must admit, this poem made my heart skip a beat. Such love is soul-stirring ~ to be loved not just for the light, but also for the darkness, with patience and devotion. There’s a softness to your lines that, as always, gives them an evocative touch. You’ve used the prompt so well, and the way you’ve painted the imagery is just so beautiful and flows with warmth. One of the sweetest takes, one that would make anyone crave and long for such tender and deep love! Thank you for supporting my contest. Pleasure reading: sending you light, always. Fave! Congratulations on your win...
