One Stone, a Childhood Treasure Relinquished

Out back, he dug a hole in which he placed his old friend’s corpse. Atop the grave, he pressed one stone, a childhood treasure relinquished when he buried the Waimaraner – his great beloved gray ghost. Nov. 7, 2017 for One Stone Contest of John Lawless (a Waimaraner is a beautiful breed of dog called gray ghost)

And besides any photos, that one stone will be the only tangible visible memory, Andrea. A touching poem, especially for pet lovers. Regards // paul

Such a sad write my friend, to relinquish such a treasure as a pet is a very difficult thing to do, especially when it was a childhood companion! I know as I've had my share of them pass away! But my love continues on for them all! What a glorious poem you have written here my friend! Such a fantastic piece, Great Work!!
