One Step, One

Now the long road
stretches out before me,
one step, one
step, the miles
fly by. Everyone
who walks this way
understands

the journey is long,
so long, too long
to concern oneself
with the great distance
ahead or behind.
I sing a little song,
to remember.

One step, one,
the miles fly by.
