One Single Tear

With this tear,

I release you.

I relinquish the thought of you

and forbid you to ever enter

my mind again.

With this tear,

I liberate the pain

that was bound by memories

of the old days.

With this tear,

I expel the

“love”

I thought you had for me.

Like the inside of my

still beating heart,

Dark,

Red,

Withdrawn,

Silent.

I release you.

a refreshing and intriguing poem expressing the "poor me" concept but avoiding completely the tiresome, cliche-ridden usual effort. I like it.
