One Second In Time

He felt her standing close to him
looking down he felt a grin
she seems so tiny and quite thin
as he looked he saw her chin

he moved a step to the right
as she moved in his plain sight
she looked up, smiled so sweet
connected a second on the street,

he tried to speak to her that day
just as she turned to walk away
he stood there watching for awhile
like a silly little child,

he walked along the quiet bay
moving slowly he saw her sway
her lovely face had turned his way
wishing he more what could he say,

she turned to wait for him that day
his heart beating fast away
soon she stood in front of him
close enough to see her grin,

one second in time is all they knew
that love together could come true
no more hurrying after her
now she's his he wants no more.
