One Rainy Day

One rainy day Is peaceful and gentle Light tapping on the window, soothing the mind A soft mood set Like it can wash all of your worries away One rainy day A violent storm Trees swaying, threatening to break and fall Pounding thunder scaring one under the covers The power flickering One rainy day And the world is gray Nothing matters anymore The ambient noise numbing every sense Stress, anxiety, depression And you let go For many All it takes Is one more rainy day

Harmony, I read your poems, hopefully better times ahead for you! Find peace within yourself by continuing your writing, its cathartic! I too experienced darkness when my wife passed so young. Check out my poem "Introspection" as inspiration.

Thank you for the feedback, poetry is one of the many ways I get my thoughts and emotions out. I read through some of your poems as well and I understand. I am just starting out but I plan to continue writing poetry as a method of coping and for others to read.
