One Person Dog
He can unfurl his big ears as if to fly
fold them back if he's feeling shy
My little black dog shadows my side
for I belong to the little guy
His tail is long and wags as he barks
He can leap high and jump into your heart
But no one else can touch him
He won't have anything to do with them
If company comes he yelps and growls
His disposition seems really foul
No one sees his sweet side
Very few can stand this little guy
He does not want anyone near me
He barks and snarls till company leaves
I have to grab him as he jumps about
Hold him he freezes and shuts his snout
But if he ever wiggles free
his torrent of barking makes all flee
No one knows his other side
how I keep doors open so he's not denied
To go where ever I need to be
The little dog always follows me
He eats with me and sleeps with me
when gone he stares out the window waiting for me
He even dislikes other dogs too
the little guy loves me true
If I ignore him too long
He barks at me in a tone strong
And leaps into my lap
he curls himself to take a nap
A one-person dog is my little friend
I'll cherish him to the very end
