One of Those Days

Some days linger like a song You cannot rid your brain of Slow minutes tick all day long, When push comes to shove Everything seems to go wrong. Just getting through is a fight Success is, ohhh, so elusive Nothing seems to go right, Even your peers seem collusive Better just to stay out of sight. Tomorrow will be better, I say, Portending you'll reach your goal Anything better than today, When your gut stymies your soul And nothing at all goes your way.

"Anything better than today," - this is true of many days I wish I could forget but haven't.

Ah, we all have them. I suppose they are part and parcel of life, Caren.

Milton I feel for you my friend. Like Tom says we have all been there. It is a sign of a warrior who is not afraid to speak. He will not be silenced and he will express what he feels and let the chips fall where they may. Oh there will be consequences but your truth outweighs any rebuttal of expression. It is a battle sometimes, but a battle worth fighting my friend. True leaders stand alone sometimes they do not follow a crowd but lead. You lead.

Michael, I can't thank you enough for your encouraging words. I do hope you are feeling better, and I really appreciate your kindness. I hope we can all move on...writing good stuff!

I got comfort from your writing this morning, Milt. As I thought these sort of days were of my own doing, and I have to shake the feeling off somehow. I am writing this propped up in bed, and it's ten o clock in the morning. So maybe I am either wiser or getting lazy in my latter years. I hope you are having a better day today. Take care. Shirley

Aw, thanks so much, Shirley. I set my alarm for 9:30am every morning, but sometimes I don't get up until 10-10:30 or so. I don't like mornings. I stay up very late, so sleeping in is a blessing I looked forward to my whole life. Some friends make fun of me, but I don't care. They know not to call me before noon! If my phone rings before then, I know it is something really serious.

You're not alone there Milton, we all have those days where we wished we'd stayed in bed. Tom

I think so, Tom. I think so. I guess yesterday was one of them! (chuckling)

Things usually look better in daylight. I've sent you soup mail, and I'm going out for a bit.
