One More Thing

So who would have thought after 11 years
You’d be the one to take away my fears

I won’t deny that I’m hooked on you 
And I love the fact that you are hooked on me too
People being on our case, “so what’s the deal with you”
“You guys being only friends, can’t possibly be true”

“You guys will end up together and we’ll say we told you so”
They were totally right, but this they do not know
You were into me … While I denied it all I can
While little butterflies filled my tummy when you touched my hand

I ended up spending more time with you
And did I like it…Yes totally true…
I kept fighting it ‘cause I didn’t want to get hurt
Then I realized I’m the girl you WANT to be with

So I let go off my guard and embraced all you did
Yes I like you too, I finally admit

You do all these things that I didn’t get before
I feel loved and cared for and truly adored
I can honestly picture a lifetime with you
Not just a few months, nor a year or two

Thanks for giving me the courage to let go off my fears
With you I know there’ll be very little tears
And if they do happen to come
I don’t doubt that you will wipe each one.

I just need you to always protect my heart
It took a lot of courage to let go off my guard
To let you in and have no fears
Looking forward to many happy years

You told me that you don’t just want to be friends
I asked for some time and a little patience
No more need for all of that...
Uhmm….Did I now say all that needed to be said
Nope…after your patience and before this poem comes to its end….
One more thing…YES!! I’ll officially be your girlfriend

*Dedicated to my new boyfriend (very close friend who stole my heart after 11 years)
