Sara, funny how the cost does end up on the survivors. I thought the song attempted to express the fear of death many have and deal with it with some humor. All the more reason to live life in tune with nature and to take care of our loved ones while we're alive.

Tonye, I am with you. When I die, I hope there will be a big celebration and only brief tears. I am trying to clear up any loose ends where possible so the fun can take place. I don't know when my end will come as I am 73, but I've been making amends lately just in case.

Andrea, we could definitely do more writing if the poems we wished to read were shorter and more direct. However, what are the chances of that? If you have the opportunity to watch the video, it is quite unusual. Up to you, of course. I'm thinking of another irreverent one I would like to celebrate!

Thanks IE. I can explain this way...I like summarization and stating things succinctly. I actually find reading long stories and even some of the long poems here a bit torturous. However, I feel I owe it to the people who comment on mine for sure. I also try to use a cute line 5 to make a bit of a joke. I really like jokes and being able to laugh at times. You're really very kind and I appreciate every comment you make. I find what you write fun to read. I thought of something else...I like puzzles and taking an idea and seeing how short I can make it with a lot packed in as an enjoyable challenge. So, somehow, this form fits my mindset.

SP, your comments are always very insightful and appreciated. I have an attraction to the irreverent quality of this song. There's another one I also admire and I plan to post that song and a limerick for that one....it's by a different artist. It would be really nice if we knew our termination date so we could clean things up...the fact that we don't know means we just have to be up to date with everything to the extent possible. I used to like delay avoidance and think it was OK, but no more as I age!

SO, wouldn't be nice if we could have a little time after death to do whatever we regret not doing? I suppose I should think about what I might regret if I died right now this second and take care of it. One thing I should do....tell you what a great poet you are! Your words are absolutely a pleasure to ponder. I think we just all need to spread as much kindness as possible whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Hilda, yes...it costs a lot to die. The dramatic funeral expenses present an issue for family members...especially if the person had no savings or interested relatives. That's a good point!
