One More Day

Would the Universe permit a small Discretion... as I lie here cold and grey? Knowing it be well within its powers... To grant me one more day. What would I do with such a boon To make an Angel beam with pride? Would I manage some small triumph Before I finally up and die? Would I take time to smell the flowers With one last stroll on Nature's ground? Would I search the majestic valley Where the tree of life is found? Would I avoid the petty narcissism Threatening to lead my soul astray? Would some glory be reimbursed in song To make bold that extra day? But my universal wish is rather simple As frivolous needs are born away. Just return my Earthly Mother... So we may be together one more day. The End

I think poetry is at its best... when it comes from the heart. Stay frosty my friend.

Touching, melodic, write David, I’ve penned plenty about my Mother . I had t taken on arrogant MDs who wanted to snuff her out. A priest told me, God decides the hour you die, not the zMD. I got her out of there, the hospital. And she lived eight more years under my care. It was difficult and when she passed, og God. I thought my life ended. Pangiw x

David! They wanted me to withhold water and food, In other words, kill her. I told them do that to your Mother and told them to not come back to my house. These were workers for Hospice?? YES. I encountered the same kill-talk in hospitals. Sorry, you, also had terrible experiences. Hugs, Pangie

Don't get me started on Doctors. I've had more than my share of bad experiences. I know you will have many fond memories of your Mother... as I do. Many people want the government to look after the elderly... when it should be family. Stay well my friend.
