One Moment Forever

What happens when you open every door
of a house that has a thousand rooms
And you have this uncontained flaw
To escape a space that resumes?

Suddenly you are captured against the walls
and floorboards become a perpetual
Walkway lining the main hall,
Where forever is no longer conceptual.

Bound by echo’s that bounce
Into and off each hidden room
And you are fighting with every ounce
Not to become consumed.

As the anxiety fills a seemingly endless space
All it takes is one day, one step in
A single moment and at that pace
Infinite turns to a single second.
