One Minute at a Time

This morning was hard
Mondays are busy and long,
And I started out feeling unsettled
I'm not sure why
It could be anxiety, grief, lack of restful sleep
but I needed to ground myself
I curled my feet into the rug and took
A long, deep, cleansing breath
And then another and before I knew it
I was dressed and ready to tackle the day
Sometimes, just giving myself time to
Conquer the unsettled feeling is what I need
To keep moving forward
