One Lasting Night

Bid me one lasting night as I clasp my empty hands and ponder why love is so ephemeral I pray for your still-beating heart and the anguished torment that lies within it the shadows are my constant companion forever in your bated breath I mourn for our once love you’re next to me at my lonely side though you are already gone leaving fresh memories in your wake
