One Last Time

This isn’t the way to go…
My time’s not up yet
Down here there is no time
No day or night
Just the ageless rock walls
My prison cell
I feel the weight of the mountain
Pressing on my shivering soul
Infusing my sightless gaze
With the certainty of death
Only a miracle can save me now
And how I’ve prayed for
Someone or something
To lift the darkness
And light up the gloom
How I’ve wished
I could see your face again
I hear your voice in the echoes
When I cry out
And tear at the stone
And how I wish I
Could hold you now
One last time
