One Last Hug
Freeze the clock
turn back the hand
shatter the hourglass
and release the sand
ask of the universe
the sun, the moon
pray to return
pray it be soon
return to that day
and stay at home
think of events past
don't leave him alone
deal with the devil
to trade your place
for one last hug
one last look at his face
call back the angel
plead with death
to be there, to hold him
whilst he draws his last breath
from the guilt you shall suffer
a lifetime too long
doomed to never recover
never put right your wrong
