One Hug

One hug
	and a soft smile
are what I was left with
	to last me
until we meet again.

One hug
	and a gentle “goodbye”
are still being felt
	in this body
and heard in my mind.

One hug
that I never wanted to end,
another hug
	will be ours again
when we touch and share…

our hearts,
our thoughts
and our love
on a day of God’s choosing.

Until then I wait for your hug
and will be listening
for your quiet “hello”
