One Hell of a Choice
Some have a will to suicide.
We do not want to live.
Crumpled dreams piled high in the dirt out back.
Ten thousand demons chide every and all day,
Each successive damned day a waste.
We know success is summer’s decline, and that
Winter steals every dream away.
Some have a will to continue.
They make plans and know to what they aspire.
They have desires and achieve them.
Life is a treasured gift.
They have faith in their God
And truly believe they are forgiven and saved.
He set before us life and death.
That is one hell of a choice
To decide which each and every damn day.
