One Day

One day I will be just bones,
And wrapped in rotting skin,
So everything I used to own,
Won't matter to me then...
One day I will be just thoughts,
In someone else's head,
A memory that's always caught,
Before my name is said...
One day I will be the same,
Still image of myself,
Living in a picture frame,
Up on the mantle shelf...
One day I will be the space,
That's next to you in bed,
A pillow left in the same place,
With impression's of my head...
One day when your time has come,
I'll meet you at the gate,
Standing with the Fathers son,
To take an angels place...

Oh my God; This is good and it hit very close to home. I lost my husband about two years ago and it seems like it was yesterday. I have a poem here. The Letter. Thanks for sharing this with us. One day we will just be a memorey. Lucilla
