One Day

one day we always promise ourselves
to put our weapons on their shelves
to save our souls from the wrath of hell
to free the captives that rebelled

one day we'll take a look at ourselves
before we scrutinize some one else
we'll cry at what we see in the mirror
and perhaps repent and become a little bit better

one day we'll stand before God
face to face with truth and laws
all of us, liar's theives and frauds
perhaps a few who made Jesus Lord

one day we'll make up our minds to pray
after we see that there is no other way
when all we have is a hope and a prayer
my prayer for you is that God meets you there

There is a lot of wisdom in this wonderful rhyme, John. Yur prayer at the end is lovely. "One Day" . That phrase makes me think of the passage about making sure our closets are clean. Great write, John. Love, Robin

aww so cool, I love this write, prayer is so amazing, it is the first and formost thing to do in any situation, all our prayers get answered, and the enemy has no anti prayer missile as it is sent at the speed of thougth, a very very strong message here for those that don't know about the power of prayer and how a simple prayer can save our life for ever, God bless you from diane and thanks for the fed back on six words that describe my life.

Mr John Loving this write teaches a lesson and gives insight to the reader, one day hopefully we all will take a look at ourselves and change to become better people, because each of us has an accounting to God on judgment day, can we pay that price, and yes nest time you can come with me on the mountain top, LOL, thanks for your comments, take care D-nyce

All what you said here is incredibly true. One day...I liked the flow of the poem and the simplified way in which it clears the whole picture to the reader. Great job! Love, Chitra
