One Cell
From one cell
We all came to dwell
Related one way or another
To the chimpanzees
The worms and the trees
And the pigs we send to slaughter
Through survival needs
We grew some knees
And we crawled out of the water
We went through some change
At times it was strange
But no stranger than any other
Time
One truth we know we are
Between Mars and Venus
I’m pretty sure there’s nothing else
That’s ever seen us
Its a fact we’d adapt
If something came to visit
A one toothed man
Chewing on a peanut
The no eyed salamander
Living underneath us
It’s a fact we’d adapt
Survival of the fittest
From one cell

From one pond
The human race belonged
Back when the world was hotter
Through survival needs
We grew some knees
And we crawled out of the water
We went through some change
At times it was strange

Time
