One Blessed Dark Night
One blessed dark Night !
The bright stars were aligning
for this was the night that Jesus came to earth
and one star in the sky was brightly shining
oh, this was the night of a baby's birth
and all over the world sang angel voices
praising this holy night when Jesus was born !
There was no breeze
oh, hear how the world rejoices
blessed night sublime
when the baby Jesus was born
blessed night sublime
blessed night sublime !
Wise men came guided by a bright star gleaming
as if following a holy command
that from the dark night sky was streaming
and at last by a cradle bed they stand
in a barn where cows and lambs guard a manger
of baby boy for his destiny is too love transcend !
Oh so blessed, blessed, blessed is his virgin mother
I pray our devotion will never cease
each person we meet is our sister or brother
God sent his son to earth to bring peace
our faith in God and Jesus will set us free
always keeping faith close is the key !
