One Bad Apple

"One Bad Apple"
Soft cool-aid breezed in wielding her sharp peeler skinning the first apple Boss girl begins. Stewed apples slowly eaten swallowed, taken in One way out. Boss girl begins. (LadyLabyrinth / 2020) gvlm

“She does not want the world to tell her how to live her life. She does not want the world to put her into a category. She will smile even when not all is good with her. She will believe what should not be. And she will dream wild! She is a bird. She just wants to fly in the wide blue sky!” Avijeet Das “I am a strong girl Someday I will win the world Yes I will smile in the wrong time I won't do what has to be done Or what the world supposes me to have done I will just do what I want Drop out from crowd Pretend to fall where I don't Smile even when not all is good Believe what should not be Dream wild Look observe and not harm Coz I just live Let me live Don't put me in a category or a class I am as light as a glass This world this beautiful world Oh how complex has it been made by us Just look at the bird soaring in the blue sky Does it even care Does it even care?” Suyasha Subedi "My muse is my daughter My strength is hers My muse is my mother Her strength is mine My muse are my sisters My strength is theirs My muse is my soul Our strength is eternal"

The original corruptor, still plying her trade. We could all be used to spitting out the seeds of discontent from stewed apples meant for lesser men. Huge cigar poking fun at greasy fingered mobsters who would think they are the boss.

Women have more power than they realise. This is truly what this poem is about. For my daughter. And my two younger sisters and nieces. And for any other woman who is reading this poem and sees the true moral and relevance of the poem.

It's amazing how oppressive heaven can be to the point it pushes beings into hells they need to raise, just to reclaim themselves, never mind winning the world...that one apple story! ugh!! I like that boss gal pic. but does she could do without that cigar! besides, is there really only one way out? :))

I think the artist is an interesting character. I went into her website to view her art. From recall, this was on her facebook page: "I got a really nice note this morning from a woman who purchased a “Transgression” print for her bold 13 year old daughter. It made me think. I started thinking about how amazing it was for this woman to want to nurture the fierce side of her daughter, the one that society likes to tame. Then I thought about my mom, who I lost 3 years ago next month. She did the same for me. Although she was more polite in nature than I am, she clearly cultivated her own independence and strength and passed that on to me.

She would never flip someone the bird but she never told me not to! This morning I thought about how beautifully things connect. The independence my mother fought so hard for was passed on to me, and then recognized by another mother wanting a quiet, visual reminder for her daughter to be bold, stay strong and not listen to societal whisperings telling her to do otherwise." I'll let you work out which title of work. Clearly she has a strong focus on the independence of women and the relationships between women...how a woman, let along any other gender, perceives the cigar - these two symbols (apple, cigar), can be interpreted many ways - however, in my mind, I am taking it that the symbolism of a cigar ....is way up there with the Apple. A woman can do whatever she wants with apples and cigars, ceilings and skies are not the limit.

Twice bitten...that apple shows up more than we would like but it stands for so much than sustenance...I'll be over in the corner whittling with my parring knife.

Never grow a wishbone daughter, where your backbone ought to be. Your strength is inherited from me, yet your capacity to harness your own strength and understand its true power, will arrive through your fails which inevitably will turn into wins. Believe in You (always) = Wins. Mum. x
