One and Hard Won
One and Hard Won
Through the Lord's grace, Our eyes open to find a new day
Brush strokes radiant where we love and pray
Eager to witness life’s paintings unfold
Evidence of His divine greatness that We behold
A sparrow’s trill as it lights upon a fence
The pewter and silver morning inviting raindrops to dance
Of oleander leaves gently touching windowsills
Majestic trees coaxing children to climb and fill
Of the smell of toast and coffee to greet the awakening
The warmth of His body and shallow breathing
Eyes fluttering and dreaming behind closed lids
My dream, His dream, Our dream complete
Is One and hard Won, Two is Too no longer to repeat
All are scenes of wondrous beauty sublime
He and I, shall have all this in time.
