One
One song can spark a moment,
One flower can awaken a dream,
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can usher in spring.
One smile can begin a friendship,
One handshake can lift a person’s soul,
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One idea can fashion a goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam can brighten a dreary room,
One candle can block out darkness,
One laugh will vanquish someone’s gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word to start a prayer,
One glimmer of hope will raise one’s spirit,
One embrace will show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can ring out true,
One life can make a difference,
And it only takes one child,
To teach the whole world
Something it never knew.
