Once Upon a Time

I was once in your arms,
And you in mine,
We once were lovers,
Once in a certain time.

We once were a melody,
Then a melodious harmony,
Synchronized, honest and pure
Always thought this love was sure

This love was once a spark of like
Then a burning passion
But you held my heart in spite,
Unlike your scar-free heart in my possession

The harmony,
Now broken and noisy
This love,
Ruined by infidelity.

Our future, broken
Our past, sullen
Our memories, forgotten
My life, ruined.
